Kraft Cocktail Sauce is Fructose FreeFeb 2nd, 2010 | By Rich Scherlitz | Category: Fructose Free Foods, Sauces
I love to eat boiled shrimp as a snack on the weekends. It’s a way better choice than eating chips and dip. Shrimp is low fat and full of protein. The problem is that many of the sauces have High Fructose Corn Syrup in them. I looked at my local market and they had a few brands but only one them didn’t have HFCS. Actually, my local market had 5 different brands which is a pretty good selection for a small local market.
Now, one of the myths out there is that HFCS free food costs more than it’s HFCS loaded counterpart. Take a look at the picture below. It’s probably hard to see but the Kraft cocktail sauce actually costs less than the Heinz sauce which contains HFCS. So don’t automatically assume that you’ll spend more on the healthier choice.
As you can see below, the Kraft brand was only $1.99 whereas the Heinz brand was $2.49. I have to say it was pretty tastey too!
